Havant and Emsworth United Reformed ChurchOur History
In 2019, the URC churches in Havant and Emsworth amalgamated to form one new body, Havant and Emsworth URC. This worked well for a number of years, but unfortunately, the number of those worshipping at Emsworth continued to reduce. With great reluctance, the decision was taken to close the Emsworth church at the end of 2024. The buildings have reverted to the responsibility of URC Wessex Synod, who will determine the future.
The two churches had quite distinct stories, and the pages below are intended to give a flavour of our individual histories.
